The “Price Tag of Plastic Pollution” was a study conducted by Deloitte to understand the economic costs of floating plastic in rivers.

The aim of the study was to confirm the idea that it’s cheaper to actually do something rather than let the plastic continue to flow into and from rivers. We asked long term partner Deloitte to conduct the study because of their research expertise in this realm, their ability to collect and validate data via their international offices, and their access global data that could help us to have a greater understanding of the problem. With the use of their internal auditing, Deloitte was then able to corroborate the findings and the model. See the interactive map here.
