CLOSING DATE: July 2024
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
FULL-TIME or PART-TIME, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

MISSION
The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. As part of our strategy to do this, we design, develop, and deploy cleanup systems to stop plastic from reaching our oceans by intercepting it in rivers.

Our driven Engineering team within the Rivers department develops and implements the technical solutions for river cleaning, in close cooperation with Operations and other technical teams. This can mean both R&D-style development as well as recurring project engineering and deployment. Our scope of work stretches from specification and architecting/conceptualization, through design & verification, to installation, testing & commissioning. We combine in-house development and engineering work with (outsourcing and verification of) third party engineering work, to find the most effective solutions.

"To grow our Engineering team we are looking for one or more passionate new colleagues! We are interested in multiple profiles and can tailor the job description below towards a mutually beneficial setup. Particular profiles of interest are A) those persons with 10+ years of hardcore experience across the whole design, verification and installation chain of work and/or B) all-round persons with a knack for fast creative problem solving with local stakeholders, who are able and willing to be deployed at project sites for several months at a time. Join our professional yet fun-loving crew and help us to clean up ever more rivers across the world!"  - Samo Simonian, Head of Engineering - Rivers
