The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. To do so, we design, develop, and deploy cleanup systems or partner with other solution providers to prevent plastic from reaching our oceans. As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the engineering division within the Rivers team to ensure a timely and high-quality engineering solution portfolio to close the tap. These solutions will be deployed in the 1000 most polluting rivers all over the world, within five years of scale-up. How is your success defined? When the milestones and deliverables of the solution portfolio are completed accurately and on time.

As part of the Rivers engineering team, you will work on developing new technologies to extract plastic from rivers. This spans the full life cycle from idea generation into prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.

"The Ocean Cleanup is a technology-driven project, aiming to clean the world’s oceans from plastics by developing innovative technology. This role is a unique opportunity to put your engineering skills to use for a better planet. We are looking for a person who has a positive mindset, gets-things-done mentality, and is able to create new products from ideation to reach our mission. Join our Rivers engineering team to generate brilliant ideas and have a direct impact on a better world!” Bunno Arends, Head of Engineering
