Ridding the world’s oceans of plastic is something we cannot do on our own. As the Partnership Manager Junior, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining partners that help enable our mission by providing the resources and expertise we require to be successful.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support of our Partnership Managers and managing our smaller external partners. You will help ensure that the rights and commitments of our partnership agreements are correctly executed, so we create long-term, value-adding relationships that advance our mission. Together with the Partnership managers, you will help set up the framework for managing and tracking our partner’s activities. You will help to ensure that commitments - ranging from branding and intellectual property to physical deployment/technology - are adequately monitored and managed to deliver the highest level of impact.

You will help identify improvements to the structure, processes, and supporting content around how we engage and support our partnerships across the organization, giving our partners the chance to create a meaningful legacy through their participation in our activities.


Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Partnership managers with partner engagements and negotiations
  • Day-to-day management of smaller partnerships
  • Helping to build relationships across our internal departments (i.e., Oceans, Rivers, Catch Management, Business Development, Procurement, Communications, etc.) to ensure their partnership needs are met.
  • Close connection with the Communications team within The Ocean Cleanup to ensure our partners’ communication plans are shared and developed in tandem with our communications
  • Helping to develop and implement our partner activation and engagement strategy (facilitating feedback, giving partner-specific updates, activation tools, etc.)
  • Supporting the Partnership Managers with large partnership negotiations

Your day to day could look like:

  • Calls and presentations to build strong relationships with our internal teams and external partners
  • Getting a detailed understanding of our agreements with our partners
  • Creating tools and processes to help better service our partners
  • Sitting in on brand workshops to evaluate synergies between two parties

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  •  A degree in a relevant field such as communications, business, marketing management, or a related field
  •  At least 3 years of experience in partnerships, business development, sales, or a similar role
  • Experience working with large global brands
  • Experience representing a company externally
  • (Near-) native English language skills (including written). Other language skills are a plus
  • Previous experience in social media management, PR, or communications is a plus
