To successfully rid the world's oceans of plastic we need to also rapidly stop the inflow of plastic via rivers at a global scale. The junior field engineer will have succeeded when our technology keeps getting better at extracting plastic debris from rivers worldwide.

Having systems installed in polluted rivers capturing plastic gives us the perfect test bed to develop, iterate and improve our technology.   • To continuously improve our technology, we need to test our technology in the field. The junior field engineer will support defining, preparing and facilitating these tests, whether they are executed by him/herself, by the team or by external parties. He/she will analyze test data and feed the results back to the engineering team.
  • Pro-actively developing test plans to assess system performance and operation processes
  • Managing and executing tests (both full-scale and subsystem), being responsible for test plans, organisation and processing results
  • Translate test results into concrete design recommendations alongside visualizing data 
  • Monitor developments of alternative solutions by other organizations and extract insights that further the development and improvement of our solutions


  • Master or bachelor in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial design, or comparable
  • 0-2 years of working experience in an mechanical engineering role
  • Able to apply a practical approach to testing
  • Able to translate test results into product requirements
  • Experience in managing a small team during tests and practical project management 
  • Ideally you have experience in the maritime sector and/or with working abroad (Asia, Latin America, Africa)
