The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The Ocean Cleanup is non-profit and fully dependent on private donations and corporate sponsorships. You will support the fundraising team in securing the funds needed to meet our huge ambitions and clean the oceans.

The Fundraising Analyst will be responsible for providing general support to the fundraising team, keeping donors up to date with our activities, developing new sources of funding and maintaining our donor database. In addition, she/he will conduct analysis to help define and execute our funding strategy. Together with a small and driven team she/he will help to bring our fundraising activities to the next level. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Establish and develop relationships with (potential) donors and partners 
  • Conducting systematic analysis (external and internal as input to fundraising strategy development) 
  • Processing incoming requests and ensure our donor information is up to date
  • Perform research into fundraising opportunities 
  • Salesforce database maintenance 
  • Contract oversight and maintenance 


  • Master or Bachelor degree 
  • Between 2 years to 5 years of relevant work experience 
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with Salesforce, Powerpoint and Excel


  • Able to perform well in a fast-paced and highly challenging environment
  • Meticulous, detail oriented, structured
  • Team player, diplomatic 
  • An affinity with numbers
  • Excellent communication skills
